According to sources, 2 persons suspected to be involved in the murder of the late Mfantseman Constituency Member of Parliament, Ekow Qunasah Hayford has been arrested undergoing investigations by the Central Regional Police Command. More suspects are expected to be apprehended by the police.
Details of the suspects are yet to come to the media limelight. The Central Regional Police Command has been working assiduously to apprehend and bring perpetrators of the gruesome murder to book. More encouragement should be given to the Police Command for the good work they have started.
“Two persons have been arrested from their hideouts in some communities within the region and are helping to police to apprehend their accomplices” the source revealed.
MP for Mfantseman was killed last week Friday, 9th October 2020 after he and his entourage were returning from a campaign tour in the Constituency at approximately 1.00 pm. They were intercepted by assailants at Abeadze Duadzi road in the Mankesim Municipality of the Central Region of Ghana and the MP was shot to death.
The political parties irrespective of their colours and Ghanaians, in general, have expressed their condolences and sympathy, and each and everyone expects justice to be served. Additionally, there have been calls by Osei Kyei Bonso, the Majority leader that Members of Parliament should be given special protection by the state.
