On Tuesday morning 9 June 2020 approximately at 7:00 am Apostle Kwabena Owusu was arrested in his residence at Greda Estates on the Spintex road in Accra when he was granting  Hot FM interview. He was arrested in connection with his recent video where he made certain threatening and derogatory statements involving Jean Mensa and President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo.

He was arraigned before an Accra circuit court presided over by Emmanuel Essandoh. He was charged on three counts.

First, threat of death contrary to section 75 of criminal and other offenses Act  (ACT29) of 1960

Second, offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace contrary to section 207(1) of the criminal and other ACT(ACT29) of 1960.

Third, possessing narcotic drugs: contrary to section 2(1) of PNDC LAW 236/90.

The following is part of the statements the Judge made at the court;

“Talk is cheap but even as a child we are told not to speak against our elders or say things that will put us in trouble.

“Although we have free speech, we should always be guided by what we say. All of us here must take note,” the judge, Emmanuel Essandoh cautioned in Twi as he remanded the accused.
