Allotey Jacobs made comments concerning President Akufo-Addo’s promise to build 88 regional and six regional hospitals in the country within one year which did not go down well his party, the NDC.

He urged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to end a verbal attack on President Nana Akufo-Addo because of the latest pledge to build a hospital and advised the party to wait and see if the promise could be fulfilled.

“If he says he will build it, we have to be patient and watch him. Where does he get the money? How will he start? Should he claim to have started one or two, remember that people will be in the areas the facilities will be built. So it’s too early for me to criticize him because you even asked him to find resources to start the project … If he can, it’s important to build these 88 district hospitals.”

National Communication Director of NDC, Sammy Gyamfi

“If he approaches the election and has not yet started, you can call it a bluff, but it is too early to say that it will be difficult or impossible to find resources to resolve it,” he said Kokrokoo ‘on Wednesday, April 29, 2020.

On the same platform, the party’s national communications officer, Sami Gimfi, questioned the group’s composition and stated that Allotey Jacobs no longer represented the NDC and that his statement did not reflect the party’s position.

Sami Jamfi’s comments appeared to unleashed Jacobs anger when he told Kwami Sefa Kayi on Wednesday, 6th May 2020, that some members of the opposition party have begun to turn the grassroots against him.

While contributing to a panel discussion on Kookrokoo, the former Chairman disclosed that his accusers have gone as far as accusing him of tagging as John Mahama corrupt.

Allotey Jacobs warned these people to immediately stop insulting him and emphasized that he was not hindered by their “basic communist tactics”.

“President Mahama knows there is no way I will degrade his name. Someone like me who points who has been defending the former President on corruption will then turn around to accuse him. All these are coming from my own party people,” Allotey JacobsĀ

Allotey Jacobs was suspended by the NDC for his alleged affiliation to the ruling party, the NPP, while the NDC has also boycotted the Kookrokoo on Peace 104.3 FM.
