The CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr Lydia Dsane-Selby, has tested positive for COVID-19.

But according to sources, Dr Dsane-Selby believes she may have contracted the virus through her NHIA duties due to the number of people who access her office on the daily routine.

She has also disclosed that she quickly isolated herself the moment she found out her status and assisted with contact tracing, though all her contacts tested so far have produced negative results.

She has become the latest government official to contract the virus.

High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Papa Owusu Ankomah was the first official reported to have contracted the virus.

Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang Manu

Over the weekend, Health Minister, Kweku Agyeman Menu was confirmed positive and was receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre.

The Information Minister disclosed on Tuesday that the Health Minister has been released to continue his treatment at home.

Mayor for Sekondi-Takoradi, Anthony Kobina Sam, unfortunately, died of the virus over the weekend.

On Tuesday, June 16, 2020, Ghana’s registered Covid-19 cases were 12,193 with 4,326 recoveries and 58 deaths.
