Arsenal full back Keiran Tierney is set to miss weeks of action due to a knee injury he suffered in the game against Liverpool.
Tierney was forced off the in the first half of their 3-0 defeat against The Reds on Saturday after hurting himself following a clash with James Milner.
Arteta confirmed after the game that the Scottish defender ‘felt something in his knee and he was in pain’.
The 24-year-old is set for a scan within the week to determine the severity of the injury to be clear on how long he will be out.
Tierney joins Luiz who had a minor provedure in his knee but has not been ruled out of Arsenal’s season yet.
The left-back has been one of Arteta’s best players over the season and his absence will be a huge blow to Arsenal who are nine points of the top four with eight league matches to play.
Arsenal’s hopes of qualifying for an European competition will be lifting the Europa League and they have to go past Slavia Prague to reach the next stage of the competition to build hopes getting into final.
Arsenal will host Slavia Prague on Thursday at the Emirates.
