Arsenal have announced the signing of Ghana international and Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey on deadline day after meeting his £45m release clause.

The Ghanaian international has signed a long-term deal at the Emirates after he completed his medical and sign the paper work just before 11pm UK time on Monday which was the stipulated deadline time.
Partey will wear the No.18 shirt and will join up with his new team mates next week after the Premier League returns from international break.
Partey has been an integral member of Diego Simeone’s team since breaking into the first from the academy in 2015.

Partey becomes Arsenal’s seventh signing of the Sunmer after Pablo Mari, Cedric Soares, Willian, Gabriel Magalhaes, Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid and goalkeeper Alex Runarsson.
Lucas Torierra on the other hand have joined Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan from Arsenal while Matteo Guendouzi has also joined Hertha Berlin on loan till end of the season.
