The Gunners have triumphed over Manchester City in the FA Cup Semifinal on Saturday evening to an empty 90,000 capacity Wembley with a brace from striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Arsenal who have been under the shadow of Man City for the past few seasons had their shock victory as a result of resilient and brilliant defensive display from David Luiz and of clinical finishing from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who scored goals in each half to sink City out of the competition they won last year after beating Watford in the final.
Arsenal will play either Manchester United or Chelsea in the final on August 1.
The win was however needed and a significant one for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta as he continues to effect changes in attitude and style on the camp of Arsenal since he took over in December from Unai Emery.
Arsenal place ninth in the Premier League but suddenly seem to turnaround their season after beating champions Liverpool on Wednesday. City were widely preferred to win and claim the FA cup after losing the League to Liverpool but were shown no mercy as the apprentice[Arteta] found a way to beat his master[Pep Guardiola].
City now have just one shot to winning a trophy and will have to pour their all in the Champions League leading already in the first leg after beating Real Madrid but if they perform like they did against Arsenal, the Spanish Champions will take their chances and overturn their deficit.
Arteta went into the game with the same system he used against Liverpool at the Emirates with David Luiz, Mustafi and Kieran Tierney on the left side of the back three which seemed to bring the best out of David Luiz.
Arsenal took their chance with a first half cross from Pepe to Aubameyang which he slotted in superbly and in the second half of the game Kieran Tierney set Aubameyang up for a second with a long pass on as they attacked on counter.
The Gunners will face either Chelsea of Manchester United in the final at Wembley on August 1.
