Bishop Daniel Obinim is going through trial and last Monday, June 1, 2020, was arraigned before the Kaneshie District Court with charges of false publication of news and forgery contrary to sections 208 and 159 of the Criminal and other offense Act, 1960 (ACT 29). The case was adjourned to July,20,2020 so that enough investigations could be done. Bishop Daniel Obinim is the founder and leader of the International God’s way church with branches in Accra, Kumasi and other parts of the country is confronted with legal tussles.
The court was presided over by the Madam Rosemond Dodua Agyiri who adjourned the case when Assistant Superintendent of Police Sylvester Asare pleaded to be given enough time for investigations to be done. Obinim is currently on bail of Ghc 100000 with three sureties. One of the sureties is to be justified. Bishop Obinim was arrested on a bench warrant by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on Tuesday, May 19.
