Information reaching straightnewsonline has it that former boxing champion who raised the flag of Ghana high in the international boxing championship Alfred Cobra Kotey has passed away .

Reports shows that the boxer was suffering from stroke which he couldn’t fight against and lost his life to the sickness whiles been placed on life support.

Kotey who was popularly called “D.K Poison” in the 90s belonged to a new era of youthful and skilled boxers who were to continue the legacy of Ghana’s first World champion, David Kotey “D.K. Poison” who opened the way in the 70s.

Azumah Nelson and Nana Yaw Konadu followed then came Alfred Kotey the Cobra Kotey and Ike’ Bazooka Quartey who were to be christened Ghana boxing’s ‘Whizz Kids’.
Kotey has fought in many countries including the Seoul Olympics in 1988 .
