Black Star head coach C.K Akonnor has given his verdict on the team he assembled against Mali in the first international friendly which was also his first game in charge as Black Stars head coach.
Akonnor says his team were not organised hence the 3-0 defeat to Mali on Friday’s international friendly game.
Speaking to Adom TV C.K said: “The players didn’t know themselves because most of them were debutants. It’s also the first time they’re playing together, we trained for only two days and there was lack of understanding as well.
“I won’t blame the players but the key thing was that the team was not organised. Mali didn’t play anything extraordinary but they were organised, that handed them the victory.”
The Black Stars will play their second international friendly on Monday against Qatar. The friendly games forms part of Ghana Black Stars’ preparation for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Sudan as Akonnor will use this stage to try players and select a team balanced to lead Ghana to the AFCON.
