Some days ago, the FDA released a statement directing all persons who have in their possession any product of COA FS to return them to the place of purchase, the manufacturer or any of the offices of the FDA nationwide and also ordered the manufacturer to recall all of the products from the market.

They claimed that the drug is contaminated with excessive yeast, microbial, mold and E. coli.

But COA Herbal Center in a release claims per their research with the aid of the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, the said claims by the FDA is untrue.

β€œIn spite of our doubts of the claim, subsequently, we ran a microbial test for the identified samples with batch numbers CFA00003 and CFS00004 on our reference samples from the microbiology laboratory of the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital. The results of the microbial tests do not disclose contamination by Yeast, Mould and E.coli as indicated in the FDA press statement,”

The FDA also claimed that the presence of the E. coli in COA FS makes the drug unsafe for consumption for children, older adults and persons with a weakened immune system.

Though the manufacturers said they are waiting for the results of a further independent test, they have recalled all the said products from the market.

They have also to assured their distributors, agents, clients and the general public that the company is working tirelessly to restore the good name of the product and though they may disagree with the FDA, they are committed to working with them to address any concerns.

COA FS is a locally manufactured food supplement which gained much popularity as an immune booster which can cure novel coronavirus but Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) could not attest nor debunk the claim.
