As part of the contribution of Total Petroleum Ghana Ltd. has donated GH¢100,000 worth of petrol to Coronavirus National Trust Fund.

The donation was made at Jubilee House to Justice Sophia Akuffo, the former Chief Justice by Total Petroleum Ghana Ltd. in the form of 100 Total Cards which is equivalent to 23000litres of fuel.

The cards will be used to access fuel for emergency transportation purported for the work to combat the spread of COVID-19 in Ghana.

Total Petroleum Ghana Ltd. had earlier made donations of 250 boxes of hand sanitizers to commercial drivers and other items to the regional Drivers Union of Ghana.

Frank Boamah, The HSEQ Manager Total Petroleum Ghana Ltd. indicated that more donations will be made in the coming days all in the name of helping to fight the spread of COVID-19 as a corporate body.

Justice Sophia Akuffo Addo after receiving the gesture on behalf of the government thanked Total Petroleum Ghana Ltd for this kind gesture.

It is hoped that more philanthropists and corporate bodies will continue to donate to support the national coronavirus fight. Ghana will need more money to fight the coronavirus as the majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu has intimated that if 3 to 4 months’ time Ghana has not been able to overcome coronavirus spread than Ghana would be in serious financial crisis than it is currently.
