Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman Manu is recovering in hospital after being tested positive for COVID-19. The information available at straightnewsonline shows that the minister was being treated at the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC) in Accra since last week.
Sources from the hospital’s medical team confirmed that the MP for Dormaa Central was hospitalized on Tuesday and was “in stable condition”.
According to sources the Minister of Health has not reported to work from the time of hospitalization since he has already taken some “days off”.
UGMC currently has 4 patients in the intensive care unit and several others in the main wing of the COVID-19 hospital wing. The health minister, who announced the first night’s COVID-19 case in Ghana in March this year, will be one of the senior government officials to test positive for coronavirus.
Ghana’s coronavirus cases are skyrocketing beyond thinking and something should be done to avert it as soon as practicable. Unfortunately, no vaccine or cure is found for coronavirus yet globally. This pandemic will be a thing of the past with time, but until then everybody should stay safe observing the protocols. Social distancing, wearing of masks, washing of hand with soap under running water, use of hand sanitizers regularly, etc.
Ghana’s total confirmed cases of COVID-19 stands at 11118 with 3979 recoveries and 48 deaths according to Ghana Health Service last Saturday.
