Hillingdon hospital located in Uxbridge is said to have been closed to only emergencies after about 70 of its workers have been placed in isolation following some cases of coronavirus that was recorded.
The main hospital serving Boris Johnson’s west London constituency has closed to emergency admissions because of a coronavirus outbreak, with 70 staff members isolating.
According to the Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: “a number” of those had tested positive for the virus.
A spokesperson for the hospital stated; “An outbreak of Covid-19 was declared on Friday. As of Tuesday, 70 members of staff are now isolating, a number of whom have tested positive for Covid-19.
“As a result, the trust has taken the precautionary decision to close Hillingdon hospital to emergency ambulances and emergency admissions. The trust is managing the outbreak in line with Public Health England guidance.”
