The first minister Mark Drakeford has in the latest statement revealed that public transport would be made to have people boarding it put on a face mask which would be compulsory for all who board public buses.

“For the sake of simplicity and consistency, as well as being part of our plan to help reduce the risk of transmission while on public transport where it is seemingly difficult not always possible to maintain a 2m physical distance, it will become mandatory for people to wear a three-layer face covering while traveling – this includes taxis. The requirement to wear a face-covering on public transport will come into effect from 27 July”, Mark Drakeford said.

Speaking at the Welsh Government’s daily coronavirus briefing, he added that this was being done for “simplicity and consistency” because of the “porous” border between England and Wales and to reduce transmission risk on public transport.
