Two thousand sixty-five (2065) frontline health workers have been infected with Covid-19 since the country registered the first two cases on March 12, 2020.
1870 so far have recovered, 183 are being treated at home and in isolation centers, and six died.
Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, announced this in Accra at a periodical media briefing organized by the Ministry of Information to inform the public about the number of cases and the management of Covid-19 cases.
He gave regional details of the infection as;
Dr. Kuma-Aboagye commended health workers for their sacrifice and courage, despite the risks they face while doing their job.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to continue providing the necessary personal protective equipment to improve their security.
Meanwhile, the overall COVID-19 situation in Ghana considering the records postulated by the Ghana Health Service details as follows;
Total confirmed cases- 26,125
Active cases- 3,716
New cases- 695
