The Greater Accra region remains the epicenter of the Coronavirus pandemic in Ghana. The region has recorded more than 10,000 cases since the country announced its first two cases in the March 2020.

Data from the Ghana Health Service says the region has recorded exactly 10,087 as at July 1. That is more than half of the total number of cases recorded in the entire country.

The Ashanti Region follows with more than 3,000 cases with Kumasi being the epicenter of the virus in the region.

The Ghana Health Service as of July has disclosed that Ghana has recorded 18,134 cases of the Coronavirus with 117 deaths. Data from the John Hopkins University also points out the West African country as the third most hit country in Africa.

South Africa still leads COVID-19 cases in Africa with 159,333 cases while Nigeria places second with 26,484  cases.
