The Deputy Minister of the Upper West Region, Amidu Chinnia Issahaku, was attacked by suspected robbers in Waale-Sombo, Wa.
According to police, the incident occurred around 8:00 pm On Thursday, May 21, 2020, when the minister was taken a walk near his house.
“They were both on motorbikes. His right arm was injured,” said Public Relations Officer of the Upper West Regional Police, Gideon Boateng.
According to the Minister, the timely intervention of several police patrol officers in the area came to his rescue.
The police also announced that an investigation into the circumstances of the incident has begun.
“We are investigating seriously. That is why we always say that motorcycle patrols are helping us. If the police were there before the accident, they can easily follow them when we use bikes. Unfortunately, we cannot retrieve them,” the inspector added.
