The scientific name of tomato is Lycopersicon esculentum Mill and of Solanaceae botanical family. It contains almost 94% of water. It is a common vegetable that one cannot do without. It also contains varying amounts( percentages) of carbohydrates, protein, potassium, iron. However, the tomato has a higher percentage of magnesium, phosphorus, vitamins C, B1, B6, niacin, and folates. The amounts of fiber found in tomato are very scanty which helps to reduce cholesterol and laxative effects.

According to studies men who eat tomatoes in a fresh, juice and sauce states are less likely to have prostate cancer. Tomato consumption protects the prostate. It is because tomato is rich in lycopene.

It also facilitates urine output.

It purifies blood which is good for kidney function. It helps to get rid of the acidic metabolic waste product.

It increases the body’s immunity. It provides the body with the strength to fight infections.

Riped tomatoes are richer in lycopene which fights against arteriosclerosis. It is good for those experiencing heart circulatory disorders like angina, attack.

One could quickly infer that it is good to eat enough tomatoes in raw state, juicy or sauce states since the body needs it having seen the inevitable benefits it provides.
