After a prolonged standoff with Arizona police on Sunday night, Empire actor Bryshere Gray was arrested on Monday morning at 7 am after he handed himself over to the police in his home in Arizona.

Police received a distress call to help a woman around 10:15 PM on Sunday at a Circle K gas station in Goodyear, Arizona.

According to a police report obtained by Fox 10, the woman stopped a passerby at a different gas station and told him she was assaulted for the past several hours by her husband in their home.

The passerby drove Gray’s wife to the Circle K gas station and called 911. The woman identified Bryshere Gray as her husband.

According to reports, Gray resisted arrest when police came to his home by barricading himself inside for hours.

The woman said Gray strangled her at a point causing her to lose consciousness. Police say she had multiple injuries on her body. She was taken to the hospital, treated for her injuries and discharged.

Gray surrendered himself to the police at 7 am and was booked into the Maricopa County jail. He will likely face charges including assault, aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.
