The people of Ghana have been enjoying free water supply or no payment of water supply since April 2020 when the coronavirus cases were sky-rocketing as a measure to facilitate the washing of hands protocol and also to reduce the burden of Ghanaians a bit which was inclusive of electricity also.

The free water policy was supposed to end in September 2020, however, the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Hon. Cecilia Abena Dapaah in a press release at our disposal indicates that the free water is extended to the end of the year.

The minister cautions landlords not to charge any tenants for water used and also judicious use of water to observe the COVID-19 protocols. COVID-19 in Ghana has gone done drastically at 529 active cases, however, all efforts must be taken to eliminate the virus completely.
