Portuguese side Vitoria Guimaraes have confirmed that Gideon Mensah have tested positive for Covid-19.
The Ghana defender was involved in the international break fixtures featuring in both games against Mali and Qatar.
The 22-year-old has been isolated from the team and will undergo a quarantine period of 14 days while receiving treatment.
Gideon Mensah becomes the second Black Stars player to test positive for Coronavirus after Bernard Mensah was confirmed to have tested positive upon returning from international break.
Black Stars management members Jones Abu Alhassan is also currently self-isolating in Turkey after testing positive for the virus.
The extent of the spread of the virus in the Black Stars team is yet to be known as most players are not returning to their respective clubs after international duty.
Gideon Mensah joined the Portuguese side, Vitoria Guimaraes on a season-long loan with an option to buy and is yet to make an appearance for the team.
