As part of President Akufo Addo’s 12th COVID-19 update, the government is shouldering the fees of West Africa Secondary School Certificate Examinations(WASSCE) of estimated 313,837 students.

“For the first time in our nation’s history, the government will absorb the WASSCE examination fees of the 313,837 students who will sit for the exams.“75.4 million cedis will be spent on this,” President Akufo-Addo said.

The final year students of Universities in Ghana earlier has been allowed to go to school since last week. The final year students of secondary school are resuming school on Monday to prepare and finish their studies. The Gold Track students are also resuming and finishing their term as well.

According to President Nana Akufo Addo’s 12th Nation Address on COVID-19, all preparations have bee put in place to help students and teachers to observe the preventive measures protocols. Further, enough foodstuff have been supplied to all schools, 350,840 Pick Up cars are being made available to schools which do not have since 2016. Both students and teachers are to observe the social distancing and hygiene protocols. The size of class for students has been downsized to 25 students per class. Nose masks wearing is mandatory, no mass gathering, no religious activities in our schools as well. No parents should visit their children whiles school resumes. Each school is linked to a health centre.
