According to President Akufo Addo, his government has secured land for the construction of a sports stadium as part of plans to host the 2023 All African Games.
Additionally, the government has set up a Local organizing committee whose job is to see the organization and planning of the host.
Again, the government will construct a new 50,000 capacity sports stadium. It will also include an international standard swimming pool, tennis court among others.
After the games, the government intends to make the sports complex a sports University and therefore, will build hostels, administration blocks alongside for the purpose.
Procurement and contracting processes have already started.
