Accra Great Olympics midfielder Gladson Awako has disclosed his goals target for the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.
Awako has been in great form this season for Olympics earning him a call up into the senior national team for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and São Tomé last month.
The 30-year-old’s impressive form has helped his club climb second in the Ghana Premier League just one point behind leaders Asante Kotoko.
The midfielder has set sight on scoring at least 10 goals this season. Having already scored four, Awako believes he can add more goals to reach his set target.
He said: “As a midfielder, yours is to assist and also to score. As an offensive midfielder I have set a target for myself. I roughly should get between 10 to 15 goals before the end of the season. I am working towards that even though I know it won’t be easy.”
Olympics host Kotoko on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium and Awako will be hoping to get some goals in that fixture.
The Accra based club will be hoping to do a double over in form Kotoko who have won their first two games under coach Mariano Baretto.
