Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has set his sights on becoming the third player to ever reach 200 Premier League goals after netting in Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over West Ham.
The English striker scored his 137th Premier League goal for Spurs on his 200th appearance for the club.
Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney are the only players to have ever reached the hallmark of 200 Premier League goals in their career and Kane has set sight on becoming the third.
“I’m still only 26 so hopefully I can get to that 200 mark sooner rather than later and go from there. Scoring is the best feeling in the world,” he told Sky Sports.
“Two hundred games… it goes so quick. The years fly by and you have to make the most of it.”
Kane was ruled out of action in January after picking up a thigh injury which sidelined him for six months, and he registered his 12th goal for the season against West Ham on Tuesday since he last scored in December.
Jose Mourinho who was hugely criticised by Paul Merson that his negative style of play has affected Kane’s performance and could force the striker to leave Spurs was elated when Kane scored.
Mourinho said : “I am happy for him [Kane], he worked a lot and now there will be better headlines and a better feeling for him.”
