The Minister for Special Development Initiatives and Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Honorable Hawa Koomson has boycotted parliamentary sitting earlier today following her Kasoa shooting.
The Member of Parliament was scheduled to undergo questioning with regards to some ongoing projects and completed projects under her ministry.
She however failed to show up in parliament, a move which didn’t go down well with some members of the minority in parliament.
The Member of Parliament for Adaklu, Honorable Kwame Agbodza called on the house to give them an explanation as to why the Minister couldn’t show up in parliament as scheduled.
It is not immediately known why Hawa Koomson failed to show up but a cross section of Ghanaians associated her absence to her recent involvement in the firing of gun shots at one of the voters registration centres in her constituency.
The MP fired warning shots to scare a group of people who she claimed made her feel threatened. Ghanaians have called for his dismissal as a minister to serve as a deterrent to other ministers and government appointees who might want to get involved in such dishonorable acts.
Responding to her absenteeism earlier today, the speaker of parliament, Rt. Hon Mike Ocquaye called on members of the house to desist from absenting themselves from sittings.
