Former Chelsea star Joe Cole has heaped praises on midfielder Mason Mount after his wonderful display against Porto in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final.

Mount scored his first goal ever of the competition following a brilliant touch past the defender from Jorginho’s pass and clinically driving the ball into the low bottom corner.

Mount has been an integral part of the Chelsea setup since Frank Lampards time at the club and has gone on to prove his importance in recent games.

Joe Cole hailed Mount on BT Sports saying: “He’s a manager’s dream, he has the natural ability to impact a game.

“He does the tactics to a ‘T’ off the ball, in the difficult spell just before Tuchel came in, he stood up, he is a leader.”

Next up for The Blues is a trip to the Selhurst Park on Saturday to face Crystal Palace before hosting Porto on Tuesday looking to defend their two-goal lead to secure a spot in the next stage of the Champions League.
