The VGMA Arstiste of the year Kuami Eugene said in an interview he granted Kastle FM in Cape Coast that he is focusing on his job and songs now and he had not decided to do a campaign song for Nana Addo, however, if he asks him to he will oblige.
The ‘Open Gate’ hitmaker explains further when he was asked whether he will do a song for Nana Addo that he believes everybody is focusing on the area of his job and that he should not cross carpet to do somebody’s speciality.
“No, I won’t drop any campaign song for Nana Akufo-Addo. I’m concentrating on my job for now so Nana Addo should also work hard for the upcoming election. I believe everyone should be in their lane so I don’t feel I must leave what I’m doing to join what someone else is doing. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo is my president so if he should invite me and request that I do a campaign song for him why not I will gladly oblige to do so”, Kuami Eugene said.
Unarguably, there is a fierce competition between the political parties in Ghana in the run-up for upcoming December 7 general elections especially the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC). These parties have done attractive songs to elicit more votes and convince Ghanaians to vote for them by the musicians in Ghana.
