Leader and Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President John Dramani Mahama will Officially outdoor his running Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang on Monday, July 27.
John Mahama selected and announced the former Vice Chancellor and Education Minister as his running mate on July 6 among other competitive contenders.
The nomination of Prof Jane Naana has received overwhelming support from the NDC, its founder Ex-president Jerry John Rawlings and women right groups across the country.
The outdooring will be done in Accra on Monday according to a statement from the office of the Former President.
“I will, on Monday at 6.45pm, host a ceremony to formally out-door my Running Mate for the December elections, Professor Naana Jane Opoku- Agyemang,” Former President John Mahama wrote in a statement.
“A distinguished and respected academic, Naana Jane is the first female Running Mate on the ticket of a major political party in Ghana. She is credited with pursuing a healthy mixture of innovative policy initiatives, quality outcomes and massive infrastructural development during her tenure as Minister for Education.
“Because of the COVID-19 protocols, the ceremony will be limited to about one hundred (100) people drawn from a wide array of groupings, with a live broadcast on radio and television and also a livestream across social media and on my various Handles and Pages.”
The running mate, Prof Jane has called on the party faithfuls to make their feat of choosing a woman as a vice-presidential candidate materialise.
