The controversial Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has been sued by NDC’s Joseph Yamin, for defamation.
According to Yamin, Kennedy Agyapong accused him of being a “killer” on live television.
Among other things, the former deputy sports minister, through his lawyer Evans Amankwah, has asked the Accra High Court to grant compensation of 95 million cedis.
He also wants the allegation retracted as well as a formal apology rendered through the same media three times a day for a year.
Joseph Yamin, who sued both the lawmaker and his company Ken City Media Limited, said Kennedy Agyapong accused him of a series of killings during broadcasts on his radio station that created instability in the country before the December elections.
“The plaintiff alleges that the first defendant posted false information about the plaintiff on or around May 14, 2020, which slandered the second defendant on OMAN FM 107.1.”
The plaintiff claimed that the stories above, published by Kennedy Agyapong and Ken City Media, were insulting, completely fictional, and subject to hatred, ridicule and humiliation,” said part of the case
