A 120-tonne bridge has fallen from a crane with chunks of particles falling onto the road and crushing a truck under.  

The incident befell in Regent Road, Leeds as contractors labored on the A64 bridge alternative works that may see a brand new £31million flyover put in within the metropolis centre. 

It’s understood the large construction was being moved by a crane yesterday night when it got here crashing to the bottom and leveled a big truck under it. 

It’s not but recognized if anybody was injured within the incident.

The Regent Road Inside Ring Street had been closed since yesterday night for ‘bridge demolition works’.

An eyewitness defined to LeedsLive: ‘120 tonne part of the A64 bridge alternative has simply collapsed on the truck from the crane.’ 

The works have been as a result of final the following 4 weekends, till 5.30am on Monday June 7.

The town centre web site was set to reopen this Monday, however footage from this morning present the realm has been fenced off. 

West Yorkshire Police have been contacted to supply remark.

As a part of the improve scheme, the 60-year-old bridge that helps the A64 Inside Ring Street over the A61 Regent Road will have to be demolished.
