A locksmith mounted the iron gates outdoors Dec Donnelly’s £5million dwelling this morning after a ‘skilled’ housebreaking gang botched an try to tear them open whereas the TV star was asleep upstairs together with his spouse and younger daughter.

Police rushed to Mr Donnelly’s West London dwelling shortly after 1am on Tuesday following a 999 name.

Mr Donnelly, 45 – one half of presenting duo Ant and Dec – his spouse Ali, 43, and their two-year-old daughter Isla had been all asleep upstairs within the seven-bedroom dwelling.

The star rapidly set about reinforcing his safety following the scare, with a employee sporting a facemask and gloves seen engaged on the doorway to the property this morning.

The suspects had botched an try to tear open the iron gates on the entrance of the property – which was bought by Mr Donnelly for £1.9million in 2006.

They fled in a automotive shortly earlier than officers arrived.

The Donnellys had been solely conscious that the burglars – understood to have been a ‘skilled’ gang – focused their dwelling when the police instructed them.  

A supply instructed The Sun: ‘Dec and Ali weren’t disturbed. The primary they realised something was amiss was within the morning.’

Met Cops performed inquiries alongside the road at present and forensic checks had been carried out.
