United opened their Premier League season against Crystal Palace in a game where they failed to turn up losing 3-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The club have just one signing this summer with Donny van de Beek arriving from Ajax who also scored on his debut for the Club at their home grounds in the Premier League.

United’s attempt to to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has stalled and their pursuit for a left-back to deputise for Luke Shaw has been left in tatters as their target Sergio Regulion has signed for Spurs.

“We have a very good group but, personally, I think we need more players to strengthen the squad,” Shaw said.

“When you look around at how other teams are strengthening their teams, then we must also do it to keep up with the others.”

While Manchester United have failed to land their transfer targets, their Premier League rivals have been strengthening their squad with Spurs recently signing Gareth Bale on loan and Sergio Regulion both from Real Madrid.
