Manchester City are looking to buy a new centre back with Nathan Ake on the radar but City are waiting to see if the defender’s valuation is reduced after Bournemouth’s relegation.
City initially approached the 25-year-opd Dutchman after considering selling Nicolas Otamendi with the Argentine attracted interest from Real Betis while John Stone’s future at the Ethihad is still in doubt.
It is reported that the club held talks with Bournemouth over the Dutchman who is currently valued around £40million.
Guardiola has been making consistent change in his backline looking for a suitable pair for Laporte and Nathan Ake appears to be the missing piece of the puzzle in the team and he can also play at Left back making him a great asset for any team he plays for.
The 25-year-old has spent an impressive three and half years with the Cherries making 121 appearances and scoring 11goals and has been targeted by many top teams.
Man City meanwhile may arrange for a friendly match behind closed doors as they prepare to face Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
