Mason Greenwood has admitted that he’s had an impressive season compared to last season despite ‘banging in goals.’
Greenwood scored 17 goals in 49 appearances last season and believes he’s added much more to his game than just scoring goals.
The 19-year-old in an interview explained how he has improved and also how patient he waited for his time insisting he has gotten quicker.
“For most of last season I don’t think my link-up play was as good,” Greenwood told Sky Sports. “But I was banging in the goals so people got if in their heads that I was doing better last season than this. I don’t agree. I think I have been better this season.
“I have still got a few years to reach my full level of speed. I’m still growing, still finding out. I am only 19.
“My hold-up play has improved. I don’t think I give the ball away as much as I used to do when I was younger and juat coming into the team. I know the game a bit more and the peace of the Premier League a bit more. It has all come together.”
Greenwood has scored eight goals in his last 12 outings for Manchester United with six of them coming in the Premier League — no player in the league has scored more times since the start of April.
