The Black Stars meet Qatar for the first time at senior level on Monday in Turkey.
The game will be played at The Mardan Sports Complex and this will be the first time that two non-European male senior national football sides have played there.
Due the the long months of Covid-19 hiatus in football, both sides haven’t had enough time to prepare forn upcoming qualifying games and major tournament.
This friendly game will therefore serve as a platform to for the managers assess their teams and make the need alterations if the need be.
The game will be played on neutral grounds but Ghana are officially the home team having already lost in their previous friendly game against Mali last Friday and will be looking forward to making amends.
It was C.K Akonnor’s first game and fans were furious as the Black Stars lost to Mali by 3 goals to nil. The Ghana national team certainly will try to make a quick response to please the fans.
Qatar on the other hand are yet to play any game in 2020 with their last conpetitive game played on December 2019 against Saudi Arabia in the Asian Gulf Cup semi-final where they lost by a goal to nil.
Qatar enjoyed a fruitful campaign in 2019 winning 13 games, drawing twice and losing five times after playing 20 games. They crowned the year winning the Asian Cup and also featuring in the Copa America 2019.
With the 2022 World Cup fast approaching, Qatar will look to make claims that they have a good team and a win over the Black Stars will be more than enough.

C.K has mad five changes to the team that lost against Mali after announcing his squad for the game earlier on Monday before Kick off.
For Qatar, Salem Al Hajri, Asim Madibo and Bassam Al Rawi were not included in the squad for the friendly.
