In Sekondi-Takoradi, there are suspected cases whose blood samples have been taken going through test processes. The result(s) will determine whether there are confirmed cases or not. Earlier some blood samples were taken from Effia-Nkwanta hospital and were tested at Noguchi Medical Institute in Accra and the result came negative.
The Member of Parliament for Sekondi constituency, Hon Andrew Egyapa Mercer, in his effort to aid the fight against the spread of the COVID-19 disease in his constituency, distributed relevant items to his constituents.
A delegation led by the Constituency Chairman, Mr. Percy Morgue Ansah, donated 70 Veronica buckets, 80 pieces of hand washing liquid soap, 3000 pieces of hand sanitizers and 140 tissue papers to his constituents.
Chairman in his address at the local landing beach, emphasized the need to take to implement measures put in place by the Ministry of Health seriously to curb the spread of the highly contagious disease.
He also said that all the nine electoral areas in the constituency are benefiting from this kind gesture. Some key areas like the markets, police stations and the fishing harbour were included too.
Present at the donation event were the Sekondi Sub-Metro Director, Mrs. Jennifer Boaham; the Constituency Organiser, Daniel Kojo Caiquo; Communication officer Isaac Egyin Donkoh; Women’s Organiser, Ami Mohammed; her deputy, Sindy Teiko; and the Loyal Ladies.
