Parliamentary leadership and the Covid-19 team were disappointed that lawmakers and  other officials of parliament who tested positive for the virus refused the order to stay away from parliament.

Both groups say they are increasingly becoming vulnerable and helpless to prevent infected people from infecting others.

Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensa Bonsu

The majority leader, Osey Kyei Mensa Bonsu warned these people to stop visiting the house. MP of Suame noted that the victims, including several journalists, had rejected a report from the Covid-19 Team that they should stay away so they do not infect others.

Minority Leader. Haruna Idrisu

Minority leader Haruna Idrisu, for his part, assured that the confidentiality of medical records remained very important, which is why he insisted that patients avail themselves for medical treatment. He warned that every member of parliament or journalist who failed to do the COVID-19 test must not enter the Parliament building.

Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Mike Ocquaye

Speaker of Parliament Prof. Mike Aaron Ocquaye said the medical team will conduct another test for lawmakers and staff next week.
