(Ghanaian Midfielder Mubarak Wakaso)
The Ghanaian midfielder has made a switch from the Spanish side Deportivo Alaves to join the host of stars from European clubs who have made the switch to the Far East.
Wakaso has officially ended his two and a half years spell in Spain to join the Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning.
The 29-year-old joined the Basque Country from the Greek giants Panathinaikos in 2017 and has since amassed 70 games scoring a goal and providing three assists.
Though he is the most booked player in Laliga this season with 11 yellow cards in 16 games, the aggressive midfielder joins fellow Ghanaian Frank Acheampong in the Chinese Super League.
“Deportivo Alaves wants to thank Wakaso Mubarak for his professionalism and dedication during this time and wishes him the best of luck in his new stage,” a statement read on the Alaves’s website.
Wakaso has spent 12 years in Europe playing for nine different clubs with six being Spanish teams. His move from Alaves to the Chinese side will be his first non-European club since leaving Ashanti Gold in 2008.
He emerged as Ghana Black Stars’ best player and fans favourite in the last African Cup Of Nations despite the Stars’ disappointing run in the competition.
