President Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to speak to the nation today, June 29, 2020, before the commencement of the new voter registration exercise.
Communications director at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, announced on Facebook that the time for the speech would be announced later.
“President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will speak to the nation on Monday before Tuesday’s voter registration exercise. Time for the address will be announced at noon,” he said.
The new voter register, which begins on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, will be done in phases to avoid crowding at various polling stations.
Based on the Supreme Court ruling last week, the only acceptable document for proof of identification before registration will be the Ghana Card and a Ghanaian passport.
