James Agyenim Boateng the NDC Campaign Communicator has questioned the information minister regarding his communique on President Akufo Addo self-isolating due to the fact that at least one relative has tested positive to COVID-19. Mr. James Agyenim Boateng is asking the information minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah to bring to bear the identities of the said relative(s).

He also thinks that those who have tested positive within the circles of President Akufo Addo could be more than one since the information letter said ‘at least’ one relative tested positive to COVID-19.

His statement comes after the Minister announced on Saturday that the president is going into self-isolation at the Jubilee House after as a precautionary measure after “at least one person within his close circle tested positive for Covid-19.”

James Agyenim Boateng also wants clarification from the Information Minister whether the president is in isolation or quarantine as the terms are different. The NDC Campaign communicator also want to know if the president is self-quarantining or in self-isolation.

He cited a post on Facebook by Lovelyn Mawuena Enam which to him clarifies the two terms.

He quoted her as saying “Isolation separates sick people with a contagious disease from people who are not sick. Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick. These people may have been exposed to a disease and do not know it, or they may have the disease but do not show symptoms. In public health. The purpose is To prevent the spread of contagious Disease/ preventing exposure to people who have or may have a contagious disease.”
