As part of Measures to clamp down illegal mining known as galamsey, the government has tasked the Ghana Armed Forces to burn all the excavators and other mining equipment belonging to the galamsey operators. NPP Women’s Organiser, Kate Gyamfua was not an exception as 8 excavators which belongs to her were burnt on May 16,2021 when the the task force invaded Larbikrom, Dompem and Pamen, all in the Atiwa district of the Eastern Region.
