Scottish giants Celtic have expressed interest in signing out of favour winger Christian Atsu from Newcastle this summer.
The Ghanaian winger was previously instructed by Steve Bruce to find a new club after failing to provide the player with regular playing time this season.
Celtic coach Neil Lennon is a longtime admirer of the 28-year-old after trying to sign him for the 51-time Scottish league champions in January.
Christian Atsu has only a year left on his contract with Newcastle and in order not risk losing him for free next summer, the Tyneside club will look to ship him out this season to at least get some transfer money to balance the books.
The Ghanaian midfielder had been battling minor injuries and with the signing of winger Allan Saint-Maximin, his chances of being a started for the Magpies was very low with the winger on top form whole of last season.
The former Chelsea player joined the Magpies in 2016 and played 121 games for Tyneside club. He scored eight goals and assisted ten goals.
