The Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) Hon. Kennedy Agyapong in an interview on Metro TV sighted by straightnewsonline.com advised his party executives, leaders and supporters not to focus so much on who succeeds President Akufo Addo now saying it’s a wrong timing. However, he agrees with anybody who have ambition to contest for NPP flagbearership for 2024 elections.
He added that President Akufo Addo has just started his second term and he has not even started with his deputy Miniters. Hon. Ken thinks this early lobby may even make the party sink deep in 2024 flagbearship leaving what must be done first.
He urged his party members and leadership to work hard for Ghanaians to accept the party, after that whoever the party chooses will be accepted and voted to power.
He urged his party to try and sort the problem of disunity now and bring the party together to be a formidable side.
Ken also emphasized the fact that NPP should not underestimate Mahama because in 2016 Mahama lost by approximately 1000000 votes but in 2020 he narrowed it to about 500000 plus and this indicates that winning the third term will not be easy.
