Five suspects and one policeman have been arrested for allegedly robbing a forex dealer. Three of the suspects were arraigned before court on Wednesday.

Superintendent Kwabena Otuo Acheampong, crime officer for the Northern Regional Police Command spoke to the media on the arrests. He said the robbery occurred at 9am off the Tamale-Bolgatanga highway near Mum’s hotel.

Superintendent Acheampong said a Hyundai saloon car and an Apsonic motorbike were recovered at the scene as two of the suspects escape during the arrest.

Adam Siba, Alhassan Issa and Baba Issa who are among the suspects were arraigned before court earlier today and were remanded into custody to reappear on May 7.

Police traced the Apsonic motorbike recovered at the scene of the arrest to Corporal Sulemana Gbana Ayuba of the Tamale District Police. The corporal had since been detained to aid in investigations.

Two of the suspects reportedly sustained gunshot wounds during arrest and are recieving treatment at a facility the police will not disclose. Superintendent Acheampong called on the general to provide information to the police if they have any in order to aid the investigation.
