Nana Appiah Mensah, the Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold popularly known as NAM1 last Friday,12th July 2019 was arraigned before an Accra Circuit court. He was charged with on two counts on abetment to defraud by false pretence and two counts of abetment to carry out banking without a licence, contrary to Section 6 (1) of the Banks and Specialised Deposit-taking Institutions Act, 2016 (Act 930).
NAM1’s wife, Rose Tetteh and sister, Benedicta Appiah were also charged with aiding him to defraud customers of about 16000 over GHC 1.68 billion between January 2017 and September 2018 under false pretences.
Nana Appiah Mensah was refused bail after his lawyers requested the court in that the prosecutor says further investigations need to be carried with him and so the court, therefore, adjourned the cases to 26th July 2019.
The President and founder of Alabaster International Ministry, Prophet Kofi Oduro vehemently advised NAM1 in one of his sermons very recently to repent and give his life to Jesus. He added that NAM1 will lose everything except his soul and that is what God needs exactly. He further says that God is the only one who can help him and not his affiliations with any political party.
The 16000 customers of Menzgold should pray that NAM1 pays their monies he owes them rather than cursing him to die with eggs and other things say Prophet Kofi Oduro as some have and are doing. He added that, if he dies who pays them, this is common sense.
