The 3rd Precinct of the Minneapolis police department have been torched following the killing of an unarmed black man, George Floyd who was handcuffed and suffocated to death by a policeman with three other officers looking on.

The killing sparked wide protests resulting in the burning of the facility which was abandoned by the cops. Protesters entered the police station and torched structures intentionally.

Protesters also clashed with Police in Ohio, Denver, Columbus and New York in solidarity protests against the horrible treatment of African-Americans in the United States. Separate fires were torched in St. Paul where nearly 200 businesses were ransacked and looted.

The Minneapolis Mayor, Democrat Jacob Frey referred to the lootings as unacceptable. He accepted responsibility for evacuating the Precinct which has been torched because he believed the lives of the officers were in danger.

Meanwhile, the CNN crew while reporting live on air, were arrested by the Minnesota State Police Patrol early Friday. Omar Jimenez was arrested with one producer and a photojournalist. The patrol said they were among four other troops arrested while police tried to clear the streets and we’re released as soon as they were verified to be reporters.

CNN referred to the arrests as a violation of their First Amendment rights.
