Somalia internet system ceases after PM was wrongly removed

In Somalia, clans appoint Members of Parliament and they select the Prime minister and the President. However, Somalia’s Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire was removed from his post by a vote of no-confidence.

According to sources, there was a disagreement which ensued between Somalia’s President Mohamed Abdullahi “Farmajo” Mohamed and Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire over elections. The president was saying that the elections should only take place if one person one vote basis I but the elections should be done on February 2021. 170 MP’s out of 178 MP’s voted against the Prime Minister Hassan Ali  Khaire.

According to Netblock internet has been cut over there. The removal of the Prime Minister many Somalians believes it is not fair and appropriate and shows gross disrespect to the former Prime Minister. Now the Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Mohamed Guled has been to asked by the president to act as caretaker.
