Ex-President of South Africa Jacob Zuma has been battling legal suit against him being charged of corruption, fraud and money laundering, receiving bribes of over a $2 billion weapons deal in the late 1990s, conniving with Indian Businessmen;Atul, Ajay and Rajesh Gupta to steal State’s resources,etc.. The case has adjourned on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 to August 10,2021 after one of Jacob Zuma’s lawyer asked the court for it which was organised virtually on last Monday.
He was asked to step-down by his people whiles his tenure was not over and he obliged. He was then succeeded by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Jacob Zuma was jailed 15-months for not appearing at court earlier and this is believed has angered his supporters leading to destruction, looting of properties running into millions of Rand and massive killings recently. According to reports, President Ramaphosa has restored peace after sending 25000 soldiers which led to the arrest of over 2500 suspects. Calm has been been restored but it is feared that another riot could break out since the court proceeding for Jacob Zuma’s trial is not over yet.

Dali Mpofu, one of Jacob Zuma’s lawyer argued that he wants his client to come in person on next adjourned date and so that was granted. However, Jacob Zuma has pleaded not guilty to any of the charges leveled against him.
